Monday - Thursday; hours may vary between the working hours of 9am - 9pm and depend on program needs, 38 hours a week

SUMMARY OF FUNCTION :
Provide enrollment, education and instruction, advisement services, career and college navigation, and coaching to program participants providing support and ensuring connection to wrap-around services and access to resources necessary to successfully complete high school equivalency or English language acquisition.
The position is grant-funded.
TYPICAL DUTIES :
Serves Students. Work with program participants to determine goals and co- create plans to achieve goals, co-create individualized educational plans based on participant self-determined program participant needs.
Monitor, evaluate, and document progress and maintain records in compliance with state and grant directives, FERPA, and institutional guidelines.
Make recommendations for continuous improvement of grant applications and reporting. Engage in program outreach and recruitment.
Advise program participants with the selection of appropriate high school equivalency, English language acquisition, or college or career pathways.
Provide information on career entry and career training. Provide support, navigation, and transition services to participants for 12 months after the participant has completed a high school equivalency diploma program or eligible program.
Provides instruction, based on the Arizona Adult Education ELAA Standards, to prepare participants to successfully acquire the reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills to complete the English Language program.
Incorporates AZ Adult Education ELAA Teacher Standards to guide and support instruction. Attend approved training and / or webinars and staff meetings.
Provide instruction for adult basic education and High School Equivalency Development courses that include Reasoning Through Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, Mathematical Reasoning, and Civics.
Incorporates AZ Adult Education ABE Teacher Standards in English Language Arts and Mathematics to guide and support instruction.
Attend approved training and / or webinars and staff meetings.
Support outreach and recruitment efforts. Provide Title II, college or career information sessions, for both individual and group audiences.
Provide in collaboration with the One Stop Shop Mohave / La Paz Operator, including but not limited to college or career planning, funding applications, resume and cover letter development, time management, and professional interviewing skills & and techniques.
Assist in the connection of program participants with local agencies and community resources to provide referrals and community support services to program participants.
Assists in maintaining collaborative partnerships with Arizona Western College departments to ensure program support and participant support.
Assist in connecting program participants with WIOA core partners including Arizona@Work Mohave / La Paz and one-stop shop representatives.
Coordinate assessment requirements proctor assessments and standardized testing for the program. Ensures the implementation of the ADE-AES Assessment Policy.
Provides coordination and oversees the standardized assessment process for ABE / ASE and ELAA participants. Assists with student intake, including initial assessment, and class placement.
Provides testing reports to program leadership and instructional staff. Analyzes data to guide program improvement.
Recruitment liaison between the College, One-Stop Centers, business / industry partners, and community (nontraditional populations) by communicating WIOA eligibility requirements and referrals to appropriate One-Stop for eligibility determination.
Explains program requirements and training opportunities available. Provides general college and specific department Information to staff, participants, and the general public in person, via phone, and electronically.
Make recommendations for continuous improvement of grant applications and reporting. Assigns and monitors the work of part-time clerical and student employees.
Provide updates and training as needed in state, federal, or local agency databases.
Provide coverage for program-specific and shared areas when program participants are attending courses or utilizing computer lab, classroom space, or One-Stop study space.
Supports and participates in strategic initiatives and performs other duties as assigned.
